Healthcare Design in an Era of Digital Transformation

Nirit Pilosof

The global healthcare industry is undergoing digital transformation. Innovation in medical devices, robotics, AI systems, telemedicine, and remote technologies, have led to new models of care treatment and health promotion, aimed at providing predictive, preventive, precise, and personalized care. But what are the implications for the design of healthcare systems? How should we plan for future change?

The global healthcare industry is undergoing digital transformation. Innovation in medical devices, robotics, AI systems, telemedicine, and remote technologies, have led to new models of care treatment and health promotion, aimed at providing predictive, preventive, precise, and personalized care. But what are the implications for the design of healthcare systems? How should we plan for future change? Nirit Pilosof discusses these issues, delving into the technology of Digital Twins. She explains how Digital Twins technologies can be used to manage the growing complexity of health care systems, and provide care across the built environment.

Workshop 10 January 2024

10 January 2024, 10:15–17:00

Place: online via Zoom

Healthcare design recognizes the impact of the built environment on the health and wellbeing of its users. Architects and designers aim to create places that will support healing, care, productivity, and creativity. As we expand the use of digital and remote technologies across life  we should question how to implement placemaking methods that provide meaning and identity, also in the design of virtual environments. The workshop will present theories of placemaking, and include a design challenge, interactive presentations, and group discussions. The participants are invited to contribute from their field of studies to develop a conceptual framework for placemaking in physical and virtual environments.
